Blueberries In July

As posted and promised, the blueberries are ripening right on cue.

These will never make it to my cooking blog. Touted as one of the World's Healthiest Foods, they're plucked from their bushes, my eager fingers quivering with delight, and go straight into my mouth. Aaaah, feel those antioxidants at work. With 5 bushes of varying types, we'll be eating blueberries through September.

Sometimes the blackberries get so thick
you just have to burn them out.

Quince At Sunset

Promises of a bumper crop . . .
Never has my quince bush been so loaded with blossoms nor so beautiful in a sunset's golden light.

When Fruit Becomes A Home

If you were wondering, this is a quince fruit. About the size of a large apple, it's been sitting on the ground all winter and has become home to some kind of critter. This is the front door (top photo).

This is the back.
