If you were wondering, this is a quince fruit. About the size of a large apple, it's been sitting on the ground all winter and has become home to some kind of critter. This is the front door (top photo).
This is the back.
With camera in hand I prowl our botanical jungle, seeking out the everyday lives of plants and critters

What great close up photos you've taken Christine. I'm curious as to what kind of camera you have? I have a Casio QV-R41 which is only 4 mega pixels. I have been recently looking in the shops and thinking do I really need a new one. Most of them don't have a view finder now and I like the ones with the big screens on the back. Is yours a digital SLR? We have just had another fall of snow so I've out taking photos!!

Very interesting!
