Spring in my Garden - It's May Day and the Wisteria has Begun to Bloom

O Frabjous Day!  Callooh!  Callay! - Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There

I am aware that in many parts of the U.S. the wisteria has already been there and done that.  Mine is just beginning.  So I'm celebrating May Day with these photos, taken yesterday.  There are just a few blossoms open now.  In a week the entire plant should be covered in deliciously scented, double amethyst blossoms.  I'd like the rain to slow down now; give my wisteria a break.  Thanks.

Christine girl you are so lucky to have this gorgeous plant !
I don't really have the space or patience to wait for it to become this pretty .. but ! ever since I saw it over a pergola in my neighbor's garden while we lived in the Netherlands .. it was awesome to me : ) Every plant in Holland was awesome .. but that was special : ) Glad to see it here and it is yours !

Thanks so much, Sylvia. I'm glad we're blog friends. :)

I know what you mean by needing space for wisteria, Joy. Lucky for me, we've got a lot of space. I get to walk by this very fragrant wisteria on my way to and from the greenhouse.

Wisteria is beautiful color. Your garden has wisteria too. I looked at wisteria two days ago. I like this color.

The wisteria is such a lovely colour. This is one plant I would dearly love to have in my garden. Actually I have one that is supposed to be hardy here but it is growing extremely slowly. I think it dies back just about as much as it grows evry year. Maybe this is the year it will take off. :)
