Flamingos: Hallowe'en is Approaching, Get Your Orange and Black On!

Napping flamingos at the Sacramento Zoo

Mr CC and I took our 2-year old grandson to the Sacramento Zoo last week.  I hadn't been there in more than 25 years but grandson Jackson has been there a lot in his 2 years and knew where everyone was.

He took us to see the orangutans, the zebras, the giraffes, the train, the carousel, and these stunning, napping flamingos.

I was very impressed.

I do love the flamingos!! What a wonderful capture! They do know how to take a nap, don't they! Hope your week is off to a good start, Christine!

Beautiful photo! I loved watching flamingos; I used to walk in Vilas Zoo in Madison all the time to watch them. I miss those days; this brings me back. Jackson is adorable.

Paz, I'm so happy to hear from you! I hope all is well with you in NYC. How did you do in the storm?

Thanks, Sylvia. Those flamingos were a hoot. I love how they curl up their long necks. Have a great week!

I'd never seen flamingos up this close, Mimi. They are truly beautiful birds. Yep, I adore that grandkid!
