I started snapping photos of my hellebores the other day, their heads now turned up a bit more toward the sun, and just can't resist posting a few more of them. (More will be posted another day.)
Un-retouched photo, taken late afternoon, pointed into the shady planter box.
This is my offering to Today's Flowers, a beautiful and floriferous site from which I've been gone too long.
Have a great week and ...

It's pretty weird what Blogger just did. This wasn't supposed to post until Monday.
Ah, Blogger! He does misbehave from time to time. Gorgeous flowers though whether today or Monday! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Christine!
Sylvia
Gorgeous flower. I love the play of light and shadows on the flower and the dark background. Great work!
(Sometimes Blogger has a mind of its own.)
That's a gorgeous and different flower to begin with, but you did a great job of photographing it--very lovely. And, yes, sometimes computers just have a "mind of their own"!! Mickie
Thank Sylvia! You have a great week!
Hi Marvin,
I wasn't sure how the photo would turn out and wasn't expecting the dark background which gives the blossom its sultry look. :)
Thank you Mickie! I'll be around soon to check out your latest post.
Christine this is one stunning picture .. do you print your pictures and frame them ? You should with this one ... it is wonderful !
Joy
PS .. it is a perfect shadow shot !
Thank you so much, Joy. My dear friend Erika is always admonishing me to get some of my photos onto print paper but, what can I say? I'm a real flake when it comes to that. I never think they're good enough. But thank you again for that high complement!
