Shadow Shot Sunday - Green, Green Hills of Home

Oh happy day!  I was able to load PhotoShop onto this older computer and veeerrry slowly get a photo ready for Shadow Shot Sunday.

These are the hills that I drive through on my way to and from where I live now and where I grew up in the Sacramento Valley.  This time of year they are a splendid palette of greens.  Most of the rest of the year will find them burned to a crispy brown by the hot valley sun.

I still can't believe I got this shot by rolling the window down and shooting while driving.  Please don't tell my husband ...

Harriet is back and Shadow Shot Sunday will be up soon.  Happy Easter everyone!

Very beautiful hills in the shadow!

Hey Harriet said...

That's breathtaking! How lucky you are to have such gorgeous views to drive past! I can't believe you managed to capture such a great shot while driving! I hope you at least slowed down a little while snapping away ;)

Thanks for the lovely welcome back comment on my blog. That was so swet to read! I hope you have a lovely Easter weekend Christine! Oh and congrats on getting photoshop loaded onto your computer. Yay!

I just read your previous post and now realise what has happened with your computer. I hope it's all going to be ok and will run like new again when you get it back! At least you had a spare one to help see you through. Phew!

I came here from the Mr. Linky at Hey Hariet. Your SSS is a peaceful view. So green, and yes, I do know how tan the color will be in the heat of summer.
My SSS today is from the beach at Centerville near Ferndale.

Peace.

Fantastic capture, Christine, and I promise not to say a word to your husband! The green is so rich and beautiful! Know it won't stay that way, but enjoy it while you can!!
Wishing you a very Happy Easter Sunday!

Hi Tina. Spring in those hills is a beautiful scene.

Thanks so much Tracy! Keep fingers crossed that I get my computer back tomorrow - all good as new!

Hi Spadoman. Love that driftwood shot, practically in my front yard. :)

Thanks for paying a visit Sylvia. I know how busy you must be catching up. Happy Easter!

Shooting while driving?
Ain’t that as bad as texting
while you’re at the wheel?

Glad to be of inspiration, Joy. Also glad that your raccoon problems seem to be in abeyance.

Hi there MMT - Yes. It is. I'm not proud, just amazed. I promise I won't do it again. :)

You have great green grassland near your house! I love it! Green spring.^^

Hello Christine,

I always enjoyed the green hills of my home in California in the springtime. Not so much in the summer when they turned brown ;-)

Hi Maki,
We do have quite a bit of grassland where I live, but this photo was taken almost 300 miles from where I currently live, closer to where I grew up in the Sacramento Valley of California. That's why it's such a treat for me to see them once in a while, as I don't make that trip very often.

Noelle, Seems you and I know some of the same places. Did you live in No. Cal?

Thanks Paz. We've all got to quiet down about the moving car thing. Mr CC does read these sometimes. :))
