Life's A Beach
Pin It
This afternoon brought a flurry of emails between Beach Nighters to get out and enjoy this deliciously warm weather while it lasts, especially after last week's cold and wet. We never know when we'll finally call it quits and have to move our gatherings indoors for the winter.

When the weather is this beautiful and the call goes out, we don't have to think twice, we just pack up dinner and head for the beach. Lamb stew, olive bread, red wine, good friends and a spectacular sunset. Life just keeps on giving.

Autumn In My Garden #7 - Soft Blue Hydrangea
Pin It
This very shy hydrangea is growing in deep shade in my garden. It begins its blooming cycle a pure white then slowly, ever so slowly, turns soft blue.

Autumn In My Garden #6 - Autumn Clematis
Pin It
Sweet Autumn Clematis, which I can't seem to find a sample of online that has any authority, runs rampant over a trellis, engulfing everything in its path including the Jasminum polyanthum, or Pink Jasmine, which is poking its far-reaching vines and flowers out of the tangle. The clematis has a very soft vanilla scent. Pair that with the heavenly scent of the jasmine and you've got perfume - right there in the front yard. In my search for jasmine photos I discovered two lovely blogs, Skippy's Backyard and The Garden Balcony. Please go and take a look, as what I've seen so far is well worth the viewing.

Autumn In My Garden #5 - Pink Mums
Pin It
I love chrysanthemums; the quintessence of Fall. The spider was so small that I didn't notice it until I saw it in PhotoShop.

"And I Think It's Gonna Rain Today . . ."
Red sky this morning. High wind warning posted and the air is dead calm. We're in for a doozie.
