Hiding deep within the foliage, I wouldn't have seen this first-ever truss if I hadn't been out looking for critters to photograph.
I'm very excited about this because I've had this Rhododendron bush, aptly named "Winter", for 10 years and this is the first time it's bloomed.

How beautiful and what a lovely surprise after so long. I have a one in a big pot which my son gave me for my birthday last year he works in a garden where they have prized ones which people travel for long distances to get plants from cuttings. Mine hasn't flowered yet I'm hoping it might this year.
