Blackberries

Blackberries: the official "weed" of Humboldt County. Well, not really an official weed, but they grow everywhere and would take over the entire county if not cut back, a chore that's done almost as often as mowing the lawn.
The blackberries in our yard will be coming ripe soon and I'll be posting ways to use them at Christine Cooks.

I think it's really cool to have blackberries growing around you. Is that the blackberry flower?

Paz, We actually have two kinds of blackberries and raspberries and huckleberries and salal berries - all growing wild on our property! Keeping them tamed is a full time chore.
Yes, the flower is a blackberry flower that's on the same plant as the berries themselves.
Thanks for asking. It's nice to have you visit.
