San Francisco's Moraga Steps

Straight as an arrow from the top of these steps at 15th Avenue, Moraga heads swiftly west to the Pacific Ocean stopping briefly at 19th to skirt the historic Shriner's hospital complex. From the view here at the top, it seems you could just jump over it and continue your breakneck journey through the Sunset District and across the Great Highway until the pounding surf arrests your flight.

That is if, when you reach the bottom of the steps, you do not look back. For if you looked behind you, back up the steps, the vision before your eyes would surely stop you in your tracks.

Scroll back up to the top photo. Then scroll back down. Amazing, isn't it? Amazing and beautiful. You can click here to read the story behind this work of art, but don't forget to come back and enjoy the rest of the photos.

Here we go on a photo excursion from the bottom to the top. Do stop along the way to click on the photos for larger, more detailed images.

Wow! Stunning! And people actually climb those steps everyday? LOL! I had to ask.
