One or two hummers per feeder is an everyday occurrence, but eight? Nine? At one point we thought we counted twelve, either perched or hovering, but one buzzing in causing two to fly off makes it difficult to keep track.
I have two feeders on opposite sides of the house. With so many hungry hummers you'd think they would go for both feeders, but no, the other one was empty. I wonder what goes on in their little heads?
The dark photos are because they were taken against an afternoon sky so most of the light was in the background and they were taken through a screened window. Ya gotta click in the moment.
Happy weekend!

Oh, happy birds indeed!!! Love those LONG beaks!!! Hope you had a lovely Christmas and that you're getting ready for a great New Year!!
Enjoy!! I love your Buddha!!!
They're beautiful! I love hummingbirds but I usually only see one at a time around the garden. What a wonderful gift to have a whole pack (flock? family?) of them. :)
P.S. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Susan! Stay warm!
Thanks for the hummingbirds. We also sometimes have swams of them at our feeders, but it will be four months or so before we even see one again in the Ozarks.
Have a Happy New Year!
