Oh my, what a delightful surprise!
The small artichoke start was planted a mere month ago; this wasn't expected until sometime next year.
And three days after taking this photo there's another tiny thistle forming.
Oh my!

That is really cool! I'd love to know how you prepare and eat artichokes. I have no idea how.
