Cucumber Beetle on Buddleia

Before you say awwww, how cute, this little guy can wreak havoc in a vegetable garden.  Green bean plants can disappear before your eyes.

And while the combination of lime green on purple is not lost on my artistic senses, hence the photo, that dratted bug was toast right after the photo shoot.

I have been very successful in thwarting them from devouring the garden by using diatomaceous earth. They don't like it. Heh, heh, heh.

Well, it is a colorful bug, but I can imagine the havoc it can achieve!! Glad you found the diatomaceous earth! Gorgeous flowers and a terrific capture -- bug and all! Hope you have a wonderful, bug free day, Christine! Enjoy!

I like bugs, but not when they eat my salad. Keep that diachotomous earth coming at him !

The squash blossomsin the post below are striking! They are edible too!
