The View From My Backyard - Waning Full Moon

Moonset around 6:30 AM, January 21st

The days are getting longer, the sun is setting a good half-hour later than on the Solstice. A few paperwhites are beginning to bloom. Spring is not far off, and I can feel gardeners everywhere just itching to get out and dig in the dirt. Count me among them.

Hi Christine! So good to hear from you and to hear you are doing well. The beach is so peaceful and wonderful. You are so right about the spring and the longer days. On a frigid day here in Tennessee I am simply counting the minutes until the warmth returns. Take care!

P.S. Tried to access your blog thru your comment but for some reason your profile is not linking to the blog-or any blog. Found you by Googling.

Hello Christine girl !
I have been thinking the same thing .. that it is light longer, although the mornings could be lighter earlier for me (morning person!)
You caught a lovely moon in this shot! .. You asked what camera I use .. it is an Olympus 590UZ .. 26x optical zoom (12 MP) I have been so lucky to get some good moon shots with it .. but I still haven't figured out all of the settings yet even though it is over two years old .. now how is that for the "DUH?" factor in me ? LOL

Beautiful shot of the moon. Unfortunately, here in the Ozarks we have a while longer to go before seeing our first blooms, but not as long as those living farther north.

The night of the full moon was clear here. I kept thinking I ought to try capturing images of moonlight and shadows on our snow. But then, I also kept thinking about fumbling around with a camera and tripod using ungloved fingers in 20° temperatures. I chicken out and took no photos. Thanks for sharing yours.
