Although I love how I caught this calla in shadow, it does rather match my dark mood today.
You can't see it, but the spider is protecting its dinner; it has a bee in the throat of the calla lily.
Nature is oftentimes dark.
Garden Notes:
Foggy morning; gloriously sunny afternoon. Horse is out grazing. Chickens are out sunning themselves.
I'm inside working.

Exquisite flower, Christine! Amazing you caught the spider so perfectly -- I've never seen a white one like that. Hope you've had a lovely weekend!

Your calla lily photos are looks like in the dream. I like calla lily white too.^^
Thanks Sylvia. Those white spiders are all over my garden. They have stripes on them that turn the color of whatever plant they happen to be on. I've seen them in yellow, pink, green and even brown. They are quite protective and make menacing gestures when I get too close. Have a great week!
Hello Makiko. I took so many photos of this beautiful calla, and then I had too many choices to pick from for this post. I like the dream-quality of the top photo also. Thank you!
She is one regale flower. So queenly and her bloom lasts long.
i love how nature works. ;-)
