This great critter hopped across my foot as I was walking between the house and my office the other day. They are so cool. The Red-Legged Frog is on the California Endangered Species Watch List in other parts of the state, but seem to be holding their own up here. Still, we don't see them very often so I was glad to cross paths with this one.
Please don't get excited - the frog wasn't harmed in any way and I wanted to show how very, very long and big this one is. The biggest one I've encountered. He/she was released just after getting his/her photo taken and quickly hopped into the ground cover. Me, I've never been able to resist lizards, snakes, frogs, knewts and salamanders.

I love him! What a super fun chance meeting for the frog and you.
Wow! Cool! What long legs he has.
Paz (who wouldn't touch him, though)
Thanks Tina.
I'll bet you would touch a frog, Paz. If you got close enough... ;)
LOL! I dunno about that. ;-)
Me *shaking head*
P.S. Meant to write earlier that I like you new photo icon (or whatever it's called). It's nice. ;-)
Fabulous long legs the frog has. I would have a problem holding it.

He's a beauty, Christine :)
Thanks Paz, I'm glad you like the photo. It was taken this past October at my youngest son's wedding.
Frogs are only cold, not slimey, Anne. I'll bet you could touch it. :)
Thanks so much, Shane!
Sorry Christine what I meant to say was that I wouldn't have a problem holding it, I have held all sorts of frogs, snakes, chameleons etc.
Anne
Well, that changes everything, Anne! Welcome to my world! ;)
