Winter In My Garden #5 - Sarcococca ruscifolia

Also known as Sweet Box, this slow growing evergreen shrub is quite the show-stopper in my winter garden. The tiny and shy intensely vanilla-scented flowers are quickly followed by bright red berries creating a sharp contrast against the leathery green foliage.

I have something more to this as we were talking about replacing to flowering shrubs in our garden which had grown far too big and David our son suggested....a Sarcococca! He said they were now flowering in the garden where he works. How about that for coincidence!!
