For the life of me I can't remember the name of this flowering shrub. If anyone has a clue, will you help me out?
It grows along side an old road cut between our house and studio and has a variegated variety growing next to it with paler pink blossoms.
It will be covered with blossoms and bees until the end of May.
I'm sure the name will come to me - most likely in the middle of the night.

Very pretty. It looks like a Weigela sometimes known as Diervilla. Some species have a variegated leaves. According to my book a W. florida 'variegata' is a nice one to have. I pretty sure that is what it is, my gardner son is not around to ask.
